Barbara Windsor's fundraising effort
Barbara Windsor has launched an emergency fundraising appeal to repair damage in the gardens of the famous Actors Church, St. Paul's in Covent Garden. Burial vaults under the gardens are crumbling causing the paving stones to sink. The appeal is hoping to raise £100,000 for the works in the next 90 days. Barbara appealed for the public's help to restore the church to its former glory.
St. Paul's is known as the Actors Church because of its association with the theatrical profession. Hundreds of memorial plaques to famous faces are kept there. Memorial benches to the likes of John Thaw and Robert Morley can also be found.
